Thursday, September 20th

Everyone arrives after 5pm to settle in to their rooms, begin to de-stress and enjoy a wine and cheese reception. If you arrive to San Diego early you can enjoy the beach or start your GSD right away at a local coffee shop.

On this first evening we'll have a gourmet dinner together in the house at 6pm and discuss ways to maximize your GSD time, set intentions for the weekend, answer any questions, and have some fun before getting down to business.

Spend the evening diving into your project, chatting with other attendees or relaxing in the hot tub.

 

Friday, September 21st & Saturday, September 22nd

Wake up whenever you want, eat when you want, and get shit done!

Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be provided at set times but if you are mid-task we will save your plate.

Maelisa and Amber will be available all day to strategize, answer questions, provide feedback and support you in whatever you need.

 

Sunday, September 23rd

We will have a final breakfast ready for you before you head out for the day. Check out is at 10am.

We encourage you to consider exploring San Diego a bit or stopping by the beach before you go home. Enjoy this final day and plan for the transition back to reality!

 

Please note: While you are welcome to keep your own schedule throughout the GSD Retreat, we do ask that all participants plan for quiet hours from 10pm-8am so that we all get our productivity sleep.

 

The Location

We'll be staying in a gorgeous home just a few blocks from the beach in La Jolla, California. This area is known for fabulous weather all year long, beautiful beaches with frequent dolphin sightings, and a luxurious but small town feel right outside San Diego city limits.

We have carefully selected a home that is not only in a beautiful location but also optimal for productivity! There are multiple areas (both inside and outside) where you can find quiet, as well as a large communal space for when you need to take a break or get some feedback.

You have the option of reserving a private room or sharing a large suite (a great option if you want to attend with your bestie!). Room choices will be reserved on a first come, first serve basis.

Your Hosts

Amber and Maelisa are both business owners, licensed psychotherapists, podcasters, master networkers and biz besties. They are passionate about marketing and entrepreneurship but most importantly, they are passionate about connecting with like-minded business owners. 

Amber and Maelisa noticed that many female entrepreneurs are yearning for a support system of other women who "get it." They started the My Biz Bestie podcast with the goal of providing practical advice for female biz owners and encouraging them to find their tribe.

Women entrepreneurs rarely have an environment where they are free to focus on their business without distraction. After participating in GSD retreats with their own tribe, Amber and Maelisa want to offer this life-changing experience to other women.

And with over 12 years combined as business owners themselves, one with a brick and mortar group therapy practice and one with an online education platform, they are excited to offer their expertise and support during this epic GSD weekend retreat.

FAQ's

Is my deposit refundable?

Your deposit is 100% refundable until your phone call with either Amber or Maelisa. We want you to have the best experience and if we don't think it will be a good fit, we will let you know and offer suggestions for alternatives. We will also return your deposit right away. However, once you have talked with Amber or Maelisa and confirmed your room your deposit is non-refundable.

Why do you require a phone call with Maelisa or Amber?

We want this to be an amazing experience for everyone involved. That means 1) making sure this is a good fit for you and 2) making sure everyone in the group is a good fit for one another. This call is your chance to ask any questions, convey any concerns and our chance to understand your goals for the retreat.

Do I get to choose my room?

Absolutely! Rooms will be available on a first come, first served basis so reserve your room early to make sure you can select what you want. Selections will be made once the full fee for the retreat is collected.

When is the full amount due?

After we determine that the retreat is a good fit for you and will meet your needs you will have 7 days to pay in full to retain your spot.  

What is the cancellation policy?

Once you have paid in full and reserved your room the cost is non-refundable. However, you may transfer your spot to another person, with written approval from Amber and Maelisa. All attendees will be required to have a call with Amber or Maelisa prior to confirmation of booking or transfer. You may not charge any person more than you paid for your reservation.

What is included in the price?

Everything! Well, maybe not a shopping spree but everything you need to GSD for three days...

  • Private or shared room for the nights of the 20th-22nd

  • Wine and cheese reception, drinks and dinner on Thursday, September 20th

  • Breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks and drinks on Friday, September 21st and Saturday, September 22nd

I have special dietary needs. Is that okay?

We have a small group specifically so we can meet all your needs! We will send a survey to determine any requests before the retreat.

My bestie and I want to share a room. Can we get a discount?

We have one shared room available for a discounted price. This room has two king-sized beds, a private bathroom, and is on the second floor (separated from the other rooms). The discount for the shared room is $350 per person.

I'm traveling to attend. What is the best way to get there?

The San Diego International Airport is just 13 miles south of the house and is about a 20 minute cab, Uber or Lyft ride. If you are in Southern California you are welcome to drive and park your car in the driveway during your stay. The home is near La Jolla Shores Beach and is less than 10 minutes away from the 5 freeway.

Maelisa and Amber are familiar with the area and are happy to help you with any travel questions!

What are the surprises you have planned?

If we told you then they wouldn't be surprises! But rest assured that they will enhance your productivity rather than distract you from getting shit done.
